Being an  important commercial hub in the Southeast Asia region the city is also known as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the World. In addition the capital attracts a large number of nationals from other provinces and immigrants from  its neighbour countries, as well as an increasing  number of expatriates.

With this demand putting the market under pressure Bangkok building industry has experienced a sustained expansion with price increases of 8-10% a year. This property boom is especially apparent in the condominium and apartment sector where new developments can be spotted all over the city.

The condominium units located on Chit Lom, Sukhumvit and Ploen Chit are one of the most demanded along with those offering BTS and MRT stations nearby. Convenient transportation is becoming a primary factor when choosing a condo in the city. Traffic congestion is a serious problem in Bangkok where an increasing number of vehicles drive through its streets everyday.

Recently On Nut has become a popular area among expatriates  offering a well connected BTS station  along with  lower property prices.The cheapest areas are usually far from Central Business Districts with no convenient transport connections to the BTS/MRT routes. Prices range from 700,000 Baht for a studio or single-bedroom type of room to  100,000 baht per square meter for a  high-end condominium unit in Central Business District  areas.
